We aim to handle personal data in line with applicable UAE law, including Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data (the "PDPL"). The PDPL provides for Executive Regulations to set out further detail on how certain obligations apply. We will review this policy as implementing regulations and official guidance are issued or updated, and we will apply any requirements that become applicable to us.

Please share only the information needed for your enquiry. Do not upload identity documents, payment card details or other sensitive personal data unless we have specifically asked for it. If you provide personal data about another person, such as a colleague, please make sure you are entitled to do so.
Technical data. When you use the website, our systems and hosting providers may automatically record technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, date and time of access, and security and error logs.
Cookies and similar technologies. We use strictly necessary cookies to make the website work, and optional analytics cookies only if you consent. Please see our Cookie Notice for details.
How we use personal data
We use personal data to:
- respond to your enquiry and communicate with you about it;
- assess your requirements and prepare proposals, quotations or engagement terms;
- carry out appropriate due diligence, know-your-customer (KYC), sanctions and export-control screening where your enquiry relates to trade, brokerage or high-value goods;
- operate, maintain and secure the website, including preventing spam, fraud and misuse;
- understand how the website is used and improve it, where you have consented to analytics;
- keep appropriate business records and comply with our legal and regulatory obligations; and
- establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your enquiry details for unrelated marketing without your consent.
Legal basis for processing
Depending on the context, we process personal data on one or more of the following grounds recognised under applicable UAE law:
- Consent: for example, when you submit an enquiry form and agree to this policy, or accept optional analytics cookies. You may withdraw consent at any time; this does not affect processing carried out before withdrawal.
- Pre-contractual steps and contract performance: where processing is needed to respond to your request before entering into an agreement with you or your organisation, or to perform an agreement.
- Legal obligations: where processing is needed to comply with laws that apply to us, such as record-keeping, tax, anti-money laundering or screening requirements, or requests from competent authorities.
Sharing personal data
We share personal data only where necessary and with appropriate safeguards:
- Service providers that support our operations, such as website hosting, email and communication services, form handling, file storage, IT security and (if enabled) analytics providers. They may process personal data only on our instructions.
- Licensed professionals such as registered auditors, tax agents or legal advisers, only where you have engaged us on a matter that requires their involvement and, where appropriate, with your knowledge.
- Authorities and regulators, where we are legally required to disclose information or where disclosure is necessary to protect our rights or the safety of others.
- Successors, in connection with any reorganisation, merger or transfer of our business, subject to equivalent protections.
International transfers
Some of our service providers may store or process personal data outside the United Arab Emirates, for example on cloud servers located in other countries. Our website is hosted by Vercel Inc. and our email is provided by Google; both may process data in the United States and other countries. Where personal data is transferred outside the UAE, we take reasonable steps to ensure that the transfer is permitted under applicable UAE law and that the data receives an appropriate level of protection, such as through contractual safeguards with the recipient.
How long we keep personal data
We keep enquiry information for up to 24 months from our last contact with you, unless an engagement follows. If you become a client, we keep relevant records for as long as needed to perform the engagement and to meet legal, tax and accounting record-keeping requirements. Technical logs are kept for shorter periods appropriate to their security purpose (normally no longer than 90 days). When personal data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it securely.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or alteration. These include encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls limited to authorised personnel, and the use of reputable service providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your interaction with us is no longer secure, please contact us promptly.
Your rights
Subject to the conditions and exceptions set out in applicable law, you may have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you and receive information about how it is processed;
- correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data;
- erase personal data that is no longer needed or has been processed unlawfully;
- restrict processing in certain circumstances, for example while accuracy is being verified;
- object to or request that we stop certain processing, including direct marketing;
- withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent; and
- data portability, where applicable, by receiving your personal data in a structured, machine-readable format or asking us to transmit it to another controller.
To exercise these rights, contact us at somakglobal@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. We will respond within a reasonable time and in accordance with applicable law. Some rights may be limited, for example where we must keep information to meet legal obligations or to establish or defend legal claims.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may be entitled to raise a complaint with the competent UAE authority, including the UAE Data Office.
Children
This website is intended for businesses and professionals. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes in our services, our providers or applicable law and regulations. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Where changes are significant, we will take reasonable steps to bring them to your attention.
